Alzheimer's

Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia are strongly related? Alzheimer’s disease manifests the most common type of dementia. As we all know, Dementia is progressive degeneration of a brain’s cognitive functions. Alzheimer’s is an incurable disease which is caused by abnormal protein build up in the neurons (brain cells). Alzheimer’s disease is associated with dementia.

Alzheimer’s and Dementia are both diseases of progressive memory loss and other illnesses that worsen our brain functions. Natural brain deterioration and cognitive function loss is normally experienced by all humans as they age. But Alzheimer’s type of Dementia is way beyond normal memory loss.

Alzheimer’s disease is extremely devastating and this disease could get worse for the next 5 years but luckily, some cases stretch on to 20 years. The commotion of this disease can be very confusing and difficult. And what bothers us most is that, theirs is neither known cures nor very successful treatment for Alzheimer’s patient.

Of all Dementia types, there are only small chances of reversing it and Alzheimer’s isn’t one of them. Once it strikes a person, there’s no way of stopping it. All you could do is be prepared for the blitz. In this case, it is most important that the patient’s friends and loved ones to understand and know all about Alzheimer’s and other Dementia types so that they will be able to cope with this situation.

The forgetfulness can be such that a person with Alzheimer’s disease may forget that he or she had just called someone to remind them of something only to put the phone down and call right back just to talk about the same thing. Situations like this can be difficult and that is why people with Alzheimer’s disease should be treated with proper care, respect and dignity.
